Philadelphia is at an intersection point. While Center City and other areas enjoy a rich cultural life, nearly a third of Philadelphians live in poverty. From one vantage point, the City's future seems limitless. For many, there seems to be no hope. The City's schools, tax structure and pension obligations must be addressed to ensure a healthy future. These issues are solvable if we stop kicking the can down the road. We can be a renaissance city instead of the next Detroit if we deal with our structural issues now.
Ken Trujillo is a partner in the Philadelphia office of Schnader Harrison Segal & Lewis, LLP. Throughout his career in private practice, Mr. Trujillo has been at the cutting edge of some the most important litigation in the region and in the country. He has served as the City Solicitor of Philadelphia and as an Assistant U.S. Attorney. He recently completed serving as a regulator as a Commissioner of the Pennsylvania Gaming Control Board. As a business leader, Mr. Trujillo plays a major role in public and private economic development.
